I wrapped up my Anthony week with a concert in Kirkland, Washington, a mere
20 miles from home, thank heavens. He was much less animated than Nampa,
but still engaging and charming. Travel will do that to a person. The program
was basically the same with the exception of Una Furtiva Lagrima in place of
Loveliest Night of the Year in Blaine Saturday, and Vienna, City of My Dreams,
in Kirkland last night, all keepers. I am so grateful to be able to attend as
many Anthony concerts as I have been able to see/hear him grow musically
and refine his delivery and stage presence. The voice has always been there,
and it grows every time I hear him. Patrick, of course, ever the racanteur,
manages to wrap each and every audience around his little finger. They
comprise the perfect one-two punch of entertainment.
