GAILLARD AUDITORIUM
CHARLESTON, SC
March 13, 2007
What a wonderful concert!! The “boys” were in fine voice; but before I get into
the concert I must tell you a story. MaryJo Kittle and I had been emailing
about the concert, trying to figure out how we would ever find one another.
I told her that Art was 6’4” with a head of pure white hair. My husband, Art,
had gone into the motel to register and metioned the concert to the person
behind the desk. MaryJo looked at him and asked if he was Judy’s husband.
MaryJo’s mother had been waiting off to the side when she came dashing
out, opened the car door and said that she was MaryJo’s mother. Not only
that, but they were in room 208 and we were in 210. How is that for a
small world??

To the concert—Finbar was as handsome as ever, Anthony looks more
sophisticated than ever with the gray running through his hair, and Karl—
Karl has a voice that fits right in with Finbar and Anthony and he is CUTE
as a button and looks so comfortable on stage.

They started out with County Down and Val Gerry (sorry, I do not know
the real name of this song). Finbar sang 40 Shades of Green, Bridget
Finn, Kathleen, WOW!!!! Did he do a good job-one of my favorites.
Anthony sang Morning Dearest, At The Fair, and Grace..so beautiful!
Karl sang Rose of Tralee, Last Rose of Summer and Lift the Wings-
he’s a keeper. Other songs “fellas” sang were Oh Molly Oh, Titanic,
Glorius St. Patrick, Golden Jubilee (as cute as ever), Percy French
Medley and God Bless America. There were a couple of songs
I had not heard before, but I am sure MaryJo can fill them in.

The auditorium was very nice and the audience was very enthusiastic!!!
I think there were three curtain calls. There was bantering and laughing
between the tenors and they looked like they were having a really great
time! I liked their long tux jackets-they were spiffy. Finbar had gotten a
nice haircut and I liked that, as well—makes him look younger!!!!

I think my hubby was not real enthused at first, just went because I wanted
to go, but he was so impressed—had a tear in his eye a couple of times-
don’t see that very often with him. We saw Finbar, Anthony and Ronan at
Clearwater, FL for their Christmas concert a couple yearsago. Finbar
sang How Great Thou Art and that brought another tear to his eye.
Don’t know how many times he has thanked me for getting him to go.

The Irish Tenors are still wonderful and care about their audience.
I am sorry for the folks that don’t know them and haven’t seen them.
They are missing one of the treats of a lifetime.
