I'm a bit late with my review, but I wouldn't want anyone to think we here in the South aren't Tenor fans.
It's always a joy to attend an Irish Tenors' concert and so it was at the River Center for the Performing Arts in Columbus, GA, on December 6th. I saw the Tenors in Newport News last December and was eager
to see what the program would be like this year. It seems to me it was much the same, but no matter, it was a lovely evening and I thought the gentlemen were in wonderful voice. What's more, they seemed to be having a wonderful time.
You've probably already read a list of the songs presented, but I'll add mine just in case there's a difference. I can't give you the orchestra selections, but according to my scribbled notes, here is the list of songs the Tenors sang.
The Harp That Once Through Tara's Halls
The Spanish Lady
I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen
My Grandfather's Immigrant Eyes
Morning Has Broken
Wexford Carol
The Road to Bethlehem
Christmas Song
We Three Kings
Go Tell It On The Mountain
Oh Little Town on Bethlehem
Silver Bells
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
How Great Thou Art
I'll Be Home For Christmas
Ave Maria
Silent Night
Toora, Loora, Loora
When Irish Eyes Are Smiling
Jingle Bell Rock
Rocking Round the Christmas Tree
Fairy Tale of New York
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Winter Wonderland
White Christmas
Jingle Bells
Danny Boy
All three looked rested and were certainly animated. I think they enjoyed performing as much as we enjoyed watching them.
I had to leave immediately after the concert as I had a long drive home, so I'm not aware of whether or not there was a Meet and Greet.
