IRISH TENORS'
REVIEWS
A few days before we left Canada for The Irish Tenors concert in Lowell, MA,
I read a filler in our newspaper,"If you expect each concert to be better than
the previous one, you are bound to lead a life of disappointment." I hoped
it wasn't an omen.

We arrived in Lowell the afternoon of the concert, and were very impressed
by the way the local weatherman made us feel very much at home...it
was bitterly cold!!

However, it didn't take long to warm up once the Tenors started singing,
but several songs do raise quite a few goosebumps, Anthony's "Grace"
comes immediately to mind, that is worth the price of admission by itself,
but there were many more highlights, in fact, everything was tremendous.
Finbar's "Kathleen" and Karl's "Lift the Wings" were superb. It was our
first time hearing Karl, and he certainly didn't disappoint,we thought he
fit in very well.

Together they sang "My Heart Will Go On", every time I hear their version,
I wonder how much more popular that movie would have been if it had
been them singing on the soundtrack. Just as wonderful was their
rendition of "Hail Glorious St. Patrick" and their final spine-tingler
creates a terrible identity crisis for me... I just think it's not right for a
Canadian of 75% Scottish and 25% Welsh descent to be so moved
by three Irishmen singing "God Bless America"!! They really should
hand out tissues... AND sweaters, before they sing that one!!

If the Kentucky Derby is the fastest 2 minutes in sports,
then these Tenor thoroughbreds are the fastest two hours in concerts.
They are incredible. The range, control and power of their voices,
all with no apparent effort is simply amazing to me. Whoever wrote
that quote in our newspaper really should get to a few Irish Tenor concerts.
However, the next concert we go to,we won't expect it to be better than
this one,we'll be more than happy,if its just as good!!
