How do you describe perfection? Anthony's fans travel great distances
to see him, and I am no exception. Thank goodness I met a friend halfway
through our 8-hour road trip. I'm not getting any younger. We did get
there in time to deliver the flowers and to check into the motel before
the concert. Now, back to perfection. Oh my, Anthony and Patrick
continue to come up with something new to surprise and delight.
I have never seen him so animated and frisky. He is introducing his
songs and explaining a little about them as he goes along, which I
think makes his audience even more attentive. The venue was almost,
if not completely, sold out. At one point, Patrick had actually begun a
song in the wrong key, for which Anthony appeared very alarmed and
threatened to fire him on the spot. All Patrick could to was giggle
about the whole thing. Then, after Patrick's beautiful Lullaby, Anthony
announced it really pained him to say that the next song (Friendship)
was also penned by Patrick!

Song list:
Schubert's Serenade
Ballynure Ballad (maringa do a day)
The Fairy Tales of Ireland
My Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose
Kitty from Coleraine (I think this may be a personal favorite
of Anthony's. It brings out his dimples.)
Patrick's stories and Galway Bay
Because You're Mine
How are Things in Glocca Morra
Molly, Dear, Why Leave me Pining
Somewhere a Voice Is Calling
The Bould Gendarmes (with all the attendant tomfoolery involved)
Finiculi, Finicula

INTERMISSION

Mattinatta (sp)
Snowy Breasted Pearl
McBreen's Heifer
Schumann's Du Bist Be Eine Blume (not sure about that spelling)
Widmung
Patrick with more stories and Major General
The Loveliest Night of the Year (I love it when he sings waltzes.
Actually, I love it when he sings anything.)
Faure's Apres un Reve
O Sole Mio (He says the song has sold ice cream the world over.
Anyone know what that reference is?)
Father's Prayer
Two Tenors (Friendship)
Danny Boy (A perennial favorite sung as only Anthony can.)
Granada (My favorite encore)

Always the student, Anthony has added even more shading and nuance
to his singing style even more so than before. He never ceases to amaze.
