IRISH TENORS'
REVIEWS
THE McCALLUM THEATRE
PALM DESERT, CA
DECEMBER 8, 2008
This was my first Irish Tenors concert and definitely the first review
I've ever written, but what better time to start writing than for an Irish
Tenors' concert on the best (at least in my opinion) of theTenor
websites!

The McCallum Theatre is small, I believe it only holds about a
thousand people, but I'm sure if more space was available, more
happy fans would have been on hand to applaud a delightful performance.

As I said, this was my first experience in seeing the Tenors live,
and I was thrilled. Pictures don't do justice to these three. They're
all so handsome, each in his own way. And their voices are
even better than on CD. Finbar's is delightfully smooth, giving
words special emotion. Karl's voice has a marvelously sweet
quality. And Anthony's voice has a strength and clarity that is
breathtaking. I enjoyed both the solo selections
and those in which all three participated.

I guess my favorites were:

My Grandfather's Emigrant Eyes - Anthony
Morning has Broken - Karl
How Great Thou Art - Finbar
Fairytale of New York - All three

I was too busy watching and listening to keep track of all the songs,
but in addition to those listed above, I know the program included:

The Harp That Once Through Tara's Halls
Spanish Lady
Love Me Tender
The Wexford Carol
We Three Kings
Go Tell It On The Mountain
O Holy Night
O Little Town of Bethlehem
Silver Bells
When Irish Eyes Are Smiling
Danny Boy
Winter Wonderland

There were more, but I'm afraid in my excitement I simply
couldn't keep track.

I didn't take pictures because I'm not much of a photographer.
I hope someone did. One of the reasons I prefer this website is
the fact that it always has more and so much better pictures
than any of the other sites.

In any case, if you've never seen the Irish Tenors, you're missing
a wonderful experience.
