Anthony had a cold. Or so we were told. But you never would have known
it from the quality of the performance.
It had been several years since I'd been lucky enough to see Anthony and
his wonderful accompanist, Patrick Healy, and I must say it reaffirmed
my impression that they're always worth seeing.
First, I'd like to mention that Anthony finally has a CD. It's only two selections...
lovely songs called "Hills of Home" and "A Father's Prayer" written by Patrick
Healy. The CD is available only at concerts which is a shame, as it's well
worth having. Let's hope everyone will have the opportunity to have it soon.
I didn't really keep track of the songs as I hadn't thought about writing a
review. But they included:
A Father's Prayer
Eileen Og
Palatine's Daughter
Trottin to the Fair
Danny Boy
Off to Philadelphia
Little Gray Home in the West
Down by the Sally Gardens
Kitty Me Love
Friendship
Girl from Clare
O Sole Mio
There were several marvelous operatic selections that brought out the
magnificence of Anthony's voice, but I won't even attempt to give you
the names.
Patrick told wonderfully funny stories and sang amusing songs, as he
always does.
It was a concert that left me feeling happy...and who could ask for
anything more.
